Stephanie Gilrein - Program Director

Stephanie Gilrien, PASS Cape Cod Program DirectorAs PASS Program Director, Stephanie Gilrein works with the schools assistant principals, adjustment counselors, and families to receive referrals and intake forms and set up help and support with re-entry. Stephanie presents PASS curriculum in small group settings and continues to grow and develop the program. 

She is experienced in supporting positive personal growth in others and committed to providing Cape teens with an alternative way to view their current life situations.

Stephanie is a graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Rhode Island.

Sheril Smith - Student Support Director

Sheril E. Smith is the Student Support Director at PASS. She lives by and reminds the students that they are her future. Sheril provides the students with academic support and tutoring; Also collaborates with PASS staff in psychoeducational group sessions.

Sheril is an educator with more than twenty-five years of experience at various levels of the education system. Sheril desires to facilitate the holistic development of all individuals in her charge. She recently lectured with the Education Department at a Technical College in Macon, Georgia.

Sheril holds a bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counseling, from the International University of the Caribbean, Jamaica, and a Master of Science Degree in Education from Walden University, Minnesota,
USA. She is a Community Leadership Institute of Cape Cod 2019 Alumni.

Sheril is a native of Jamaica. She is living in Hyannis with her husband and two adult children, a daughter and a son. She enjoys reading, dancing and traveling.

Mary Kirby - Clinician / Counselor

As PASS’s licensed clinician, Mary will Complete mental health and substance use assessments for students at PASS; provide recommendations and referral services; and collaborate with PASS staff in psychoeducational group sessions.

Mary Kirby is a certified School Psychologist with a dual degree in school psychology and counseling psychology from Tufts University. She lives in South Orleans and has worked for most of her career in the public-school systems (as a consultant and a direct provider) as well as in a therapeutic day program. She is an employee of Outer Cape Health Services in Harwich, MA.

Mary is eager to work with the high school students attending the Cape Cod PASS Program. She will conduct individual assessments of emotional, social, and behavioral health, and translate identified needs into referrals to services in the community.

She will provide psychoeducational group counseling to build students’ understanding about trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use and social stressors. Mary will report evaluative findings at PASS meetings in a way which is easily interpreted by staff, school personnel, community-based providers, and parents/guardians. She will provide continuing support to students and families to help with the implementation of service.

Behavioral Health Innovators contracts with Outer Cape Heath Services who provides the licensed clinician for the Cape Cod PASS program
